- Description: This once-rare Sansevieria snake plant species, with its short stature, has become quite popular. Ehrenbergii is known as Samurai dwarf and sometimes called Sansevieria samurai or the sword sansevieria. This short perennial succulent is one of 70 or so Sansevieria or snake plant species. Due to the alternating pattern of leaf growth, the plant takes on a spiral appearance when viewed from above.
